Everest base camp/ Kalapatthar trek route is very popular among the trekkers around the world because of world’s top Mountain Everest. Everest base camp and Kalapatthar both places are famous for the close up views of several beautiful soaring peaks of Khumbu region. Everest base camp and Kalapatthar trek follow the classical route from Lukla which goes through the dense forests, villages, farm lands, valleys, Rivers, Gompas, Monasteries, Mani walls and Chörtens of Everest region which provide the diverse experience to the trekkers.
After the short and scenic flight from Kathmandu this trek starts from Lukla and complete the romantic and adventurous journey of Phakding, Jorsale, Namche bazaar, Syangboche, Tengboche, Pangboche, Pheriche, Lobuche and reach to Everest base camp and Kalapatthar. On the way trek passes the forests of Sagarmatha national which is famous for attractive flora because it has pine and hemlock forest at lower altitudes, juniper, birch and rhododendron forests at mid elevations and scrub and alpine plant at high altitude. These varieties flora of Sagarmatha national park attracts all the eyes of the all trekkers. This National Park is also famous for numerous wildlife such as Thar, Goral, Serow, Musk deer, Black bear, Weasels, Martens, Mouse hare, Jackals and Langur so during Everest base camp and Kalapatthar trek trekkers can collect thrilling experience by making the encounter with these wild animals.
Everest base camp is located at the altitude of 5364m and Kalapatthar is located at the altitude of 5550m above the sea level. Both places are very famous for the dramatic mountain views. As Kalapatthar is about 200m above from Everest base camp it offer clearer, close up and parallel views of the white capped peaks such as Everest (8848m), Shishapangma (8035m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Lhotse (8516m), Amadablam (6812m), Nuptse (7855m), Island (6189m), Mera (6476m), Gosainthan (8013m) Kongde Himal (6200m), Thamserku (6430m), and Khumbila (5761m). After rewarding the towering peaks of Everest region from its base camp and Kalapatthar trek return back to Lukla via same route.
