Greenland Remote Trekking - The Arctic Circle Trail

The Arctic Circle Trail (or ACT) in Western Greenland is a wonderful and very special remote trekking experience. With only approx 400 people per annum completing the trail, it offers the opportunity to experience Greenland at its very best. Over the course of its 165km, the trail weaves its way through magnificent terrain between Kangerlussuaq near the inland icecap and the coastal town of Sisimiut. Making the most of the short Arctic summer, Arctic plants abound to produce a stunning backdrop of ever changing colour and variety.

As well as the stunning vistas, there are opportunities to spot wildlife including Arctic hare and fox, caribou, muskox and birds of prey. Trekking food can be supplemented on the trail with wild berries and fish, in particular the Arctic char, which can easily be caught from rivers using simple line and spinners.
