Azerbaijan Cultural Tour

Day 1 ,Baku

Arrival to Baku . Meeting the guide and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2 , Baku excursion and Qobustan tour

Breakfast in the Hotel . Today we will be introduced with Baku City, and start our excursion from the panoramic view at highest point of the city -Highland Park and Medieval part of the city, complex of monuments -Icheri Sheher. (Walled City included to UNESCO World Heritage List). Excursion will take around 4 hours and we will visit Maiden Tower and Shirvanshakh Palace. Also we will visit art workshop inside Old City where we will be introduced with painting of national ornaments on plates and could try to do it with the help of painter. Also today we have a tour to Gobustan Museum and excursion there. Overnight in Baku .

Day 3 , Baku – Shemakha

Breakfast in the Hotel. Transfer to Shemakha city(2 hours). Shemakha for a long time was the capital of Azerbaijan, but after several earth quakes Shemekha was completely destroyed. On the road we could see Mud Vulcanoes, Diri Baba Mausoleum (in Maraza) – Diri Baba is Mausoleum of Sheikh Diri Baba constructed in 1402. This place is connected with period of prosperity of Sufismus striving in Islam, then we continue our road to biggest and beautiful mosque in the Caucasus- Shemakha Mosque (reconstructed in 2010), and Ancient graveyard of Shemakha where located Seven mausoleums of Shirvanshakh Dynasty (Seven Domes). Accomodation in the Hotel. Free time to enjoy facilities of the Hotel .

Evening we will visit Observatory in Pirguli where the biggest telescope in the east is located. And if whether condition will allow us we will watch the stars through telescope. Overnight in Shemakha .

Day 4, Shemakha – Lahic – Sheki

Breakfast in the Hotel. Transfer to Lahic (1.5 hours). Lahic is a notable place in Azerbaijan, with its authentic handicrafts traditions, particularly related to copper. The village's carpet and rug crafts are also well known in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus. Lahic has an old sewage system (some experts claim that it was built 1000 – 1500 years ago). Due to frequent earthquakes local people have developed sophisticated and authentic construction techniques. We will take local horses and will have excursion to ruins of Old Fortress. Excursion will take around (1 hours). Transfer to Sheki (2.5 hours). Excursion to Sheki and Kish village. Monuments to visit: Sheki Khans Palace, Sheki Khans House, Karvanserayi, Sheki Suvenirs bazaar. Palace of Sheki Khans was a summer residence of Sheki Khans. It was built in 1797 by Muhammed Hasan Khan. Sheki Khans Summer House was constructed of raw bricks and consists of 6 rooms, 4 corridors and 2 balconies. The walls and the ceiling of bigger rooms are covered with terrific beautiful pictures: flowers, animals, patterns. Overnight in Sheki

Day 5 , Sheki – Baku

Breakfast in the Hotel. Transfer from Sheki to Baku . On the road , we have the tour to Nidj . Nidj village, which is about 20km from Gabala has gained some fame, where the Udins live – the direct descendants of ancient Caucasian Albanians. Overnight in Baku .

Day 6 , Baku – Absheron

Breakfast in the Hotel . Visit to Absheron peninsula Excursion Temple of Fire . Qala Museum and Mirovsum – Aga Mosque. Also visit Heydar Aliyev Center . Today we also will visit Museum of Carpet. Overnight in Baku

Day 7 , Baku

Breakfast and transfer to Airport for Departure .
